Guitarist Rick Rowe is a Washington D.C. native and performs regularly around the D.C./Baltimore region. He started out playing nightclubs, lounges, dive bars, and toured with The Coasters. In D.C., Rick has played with a number of traditional jazz groups including The Clarinet Connection and Southern Comfort, as well as big bands such as Doc Scantlin's Imperial Palms, Kaleidoscope, Richard Bray, New Columbia, and Radio King. His playing has taken him to London, Frankfurt, and Hong Kong, as well as jazz festivals around the U.S. Rick studied with and was largely influenced by his friend Steve Jordan; an internationally known rhythm guitarist from the swing era. Rick is also inspired by the likes of Wes Montgomery, Joe Pass, Barney Kessel, and Herb Ellis. Some of these influences can be heard in his playing to this day.
